Introduction

 

Hi everyone! My name is Caroline Smagacz and I am a junior majoring in advertising. I use to be an art major but found it difficult to pursue so, I switched to advertising and love it thus far. I have a passion for fashion and recently just came back from the Magic apparel tradeshow in Las Vegas (that’s why I wasn’t in class the first day). I have an internship at the Merchandise Mart for RBC Inc. Showroom. I work the Chicago tradeshows and Las Vegas ones. Chicago is my home and love the city. I am set to go aboard next semester to Florence and cannot wait to learn some Italian! I also am in Kappa Alpha Theta and a guest writer for the Odyssey. Recently, me and a few friends started an RSO called College Couture Week. We try to bring fashion to the campus in one crazy week just like Fashion Week in New York. And if that's still not enough fashion related activities, I am the event coordinator for the campus Rent the Runway team. As you can see I love fashion. But I hope to find an internship for the summer at a magazine or ad agency to try something new. I'm excited to see what this class teaches me this semester!
