Introduction

My name is Jennifer Solar, I go by Jen usually, and I am a Senior in Advertising along with completing a minor in Art Education and a minor in Communication. This summer I was a marketing intern for Campus Living Villages - Illini Tower in Champaign. Here I got to work directly with the head of Marketing to help reach full occupancy with street teaming and brainstorming new campaign ideas to reach out to more incoming students. I also did marketing for an independent luxry shoe company called Alexandra Torissi that will be launching in October. I learned a lot with this internship about starting a company and what goes into it from the ground up. I was also in charge of creating a plan to start marketing the brand through social media as well as incorporating the Chicago lifestyle. As for advertising, I am more interested in the planning/management aspect and hope to learn more about it in this class! I do have a life outside of school though as do we all. So in my spare time I love to dance. I have been dancing my whole life and am on Illini N' Motion here on campus. I also love Parks and Recreation =]
